How to Make the Most of Your Wholesaling Hours

Many people who start with wholesaling are still working a 9-5 on top of the time they’re investing in their wholesaling business. There’s no shame in it. It’s often a necessary evil until you’re making deals consistently enough to say adios to the daily grind.

With only a few hours leftover in the day, how do you make the most of the time you devote to Wholesaling? This article will focus on more practical tips for time management. If you’re looking for what to actually do during that time, check out our free mini-course.

Know tomorrow’s game plan before you hit the hay

If you don’t have a plan, you’re going to waste time and avoid putting in the work. Writing out some goals for the next day helps you to approach your working hours with the comfort of knowing you can hit the ground running. Whether it’s how many cold calls you’re going to make, or how many leads you’re going to find, writing it out is integral to making it happen.

Get some sleep

At REI University, we’re not big fans of hustle culture. We believe in working smarter not harder. People who have to work twenty hours a day to reach their goals aren’t superstars, they’re just individuals who don’t know how to manage their time well.

Make sure that you’re working an adequate sleep schedule into your regular routine. When we’re tired our passions begin to wane, we lose the ability to focus and knock out tasks, we forget to do things we should have done, and our drive becomes nilch. Don’t view sleep as a barrier that keeps you from reaching your goal. View it as the means to make sure the time that you are working is as productive as it can be.

Leave room for fun

Whether it’s watching your favorite show, going out for a drink with friends, playing a video game, or hanging out with your kids, we have to regularly devote time to the things that give us purpose.

Work is meant to fuel our lives, not meant to consume every last bit of energy. Going weeks without stepping away from the computer is a good way to get burnt out really fast. It can make the time that we are working less effective and less meaningful.

Have your space

As silly as it might sound, having a space set aside for the work that you’re doing when wholesaling is of prime importance. Pick a place in the house that is the most free from distractions, or if that’s not possible, pop in some headphones.

Having a space dedicated to work helps create the boundaries that we need to successfully devote ourselves to the task at hand. That isn’t to say that you can’t wander from spot-to-spot occasionally, but constantly working from the couch is going to make the TV a distraction, lying in bed all day while you cold call and you may find yourself taking a nap when you should be working.

And like we mentioned above, your life outside of work is important. When every place in your home becomes your office, you’re never going to feel like you’ve completely left work and completely entered into necessary moments of leisure.

Hello! I came across one of your tiktoks with Liz and came to your website right away. I’ve been really interested in wholesaling, but I really have no idea where to start. I understand the concept of it all, but I don’t know what I’m doing at all. I’m ready to start a new business adventure that is more passive and is financially more fulfilling. I’d love some advice and help! I’d also love to hear what your program has to offer. Thank you in advance!
