A good place to invest now would Florida or California. As the question of settlements on the market CA and FL was a great success. That would buy the time there, as you do for a relatively cheap price. When the market comes to speed, but you will be able to make a bundle on your investment.

  1. I would disagree with the post above. Yes, real estate is cheaper in Florida and LA because of the economic situation. However, you have to realize why. That’s because nobody can buy it. So investing in a house will do you no good if nobody buys/leases it. If you want a good area to invest in, search for a growing area. That way, the property will be undervalued since the demand is low. Once people start coming in, the demand will rise and you’ll see a return on our investment. Florida and LA are pretty much maxed out in terms of growth. Where I’m from, Austin is still expanding and Bastrop is rapidly growing. These areas also seem almost unaffected by the mortgage crisis and people are still buying houses.

  2. Texas is constantly recognized as the best place to invest in real estate. Price have barely dropped in some areas and in other are still slowly climbing. Even Better in most Texas markets you can buy houses way below the current market. The greatest advantage of investing in Texas is that if purchased correctly (something that is easy to do here) you investment will cash flow from month 1.

I am a real estate investor in the Houston area and will not even look at a property unless it is 30% below market, It provides a minimum of a 15% cash on cash return every month and I can at a minimum gain of equity at double my total cash investment.
